Damn Aussies!!!

Well, here it is, another week gone by, i'm shocked at how fast time flies in this city. The work week went by without incident, but the weekend, well i guess you could say the weekend made up for the rest of the week.Friday i worked my shift at nyp(pizza). Was super tired so i just went home and crashed. Saturday worked at the clove, got off early and started drinkin, somewhere after my 2nd or 3rd red snapper and karaoke versions of aretha's greatest hits(vague recollections include, me, aretha's natural woman, and standing on a table in the bar, not good people, not good at all!!)i realized i should take my buzzin self home!!! I had an early start sunday, in order to prepare for the long day of drinkin and music that lie ahead. I went on a beer run and packed my new igloo(with wheels of course!!, it fit a whole suitcase of delicious miller lite's!!!and a few bottled H2O, hydration is key!!)then jen and i were headed to the river to catch the final day of the french quarter festival. The walk that normally takes no more than 10 minutes was doubled, partially because of the luggage(ice chest) we were hauling, and the kazillions of people around!! This was at like, 11am on sunday. I was like, shouldnt you people be in your hotel room nursing a gnarly hangover or somethin, i mean really!! So we finally made it to the main stage when jen got a vibe that we werent supposed to have coolers. I was like, oh well dude, i just worked up a sweat(not that thats hard to do-fat kid!!)draggin this freakin thing out here. Its stayin!! This festival is quickly becoming one of the largest free festivals in the city. They had like 7 or 8 different stages with tons of different types of all local music!! And the food, well i might venture to say the food is better than the music, not that the music wasnt kick ass, cuz it was. But there were like 30 different food booths, and they all had amazingly tasty morsels. I had just begun devouring my jalapeno macaroni and cheese(soooo bomb!!!)and feeling confident we would be fine with the big ass cooler, when jen says, the kiss of death"i cant believe we havent got caught for our cooler"can you say jinx??So, you know what happened next, not only did i have to part with this awesome mac and cheese, i had to be "escorted out" with my cooler and haul the freakin thing back to my house!!!! I was not a happy camper, halfway home, the cooler took a spill ,and beers and ice and bottled water were running rampant along the streets of the quarter(ok, so it was only one street, but, ya know, me and my flair for the dramatic!!). I finally made it back to my cold, yet still delectable mac and cheese, plopped my now drenched in sweat self down in my captains chair and swore not to move again unless it was a potty break or for more food(ahh, this is the life!!!). We got our festival on for a good 7 or 8 hours. Music highlight-Big Sam's Funky Nation, a kick ass brass band. Food highlight-An out of this worldly delicious oreo bread pudding with ice cream and chocolate sauce, how can something so bad taste soooo goood!!!! Festival lowlight-the inevitable running into bicurious/drunk eric. Whose teeth are now stained black, now, im not too knowledgable on the whole drug world, but im pretty sure it means he's smoking something pretty disgustingly bad!! Anyhoo, sunday ended with us calling it an early night, and tending to our headaches(not enough water, dammit!!)and sunburns!! Monday it was back to work at the clove. Tuesday, after getting off at the clove, i went to hang with jen and some of her bourbon house friends. I started chatting with a friend i hadnt seen in awhile. We started talking about mardi gras. I told him i had met a guy from australia, and the whole story that went along with it. I was about halfway through telling of my adventures when he started asking me what he looked like, then describing him on his own. Soo, yeah, turns out, there was about a week when i didnt hear from him, he had said he was going to baton rouge, turns out, he was hangin out with a girl from the bourbon house. Telling her all the same bullshit stories he told me, and feeding her all the same lines of how he wanted me(i guess i should say "us")to come visit him in europe and blah blah blah, i was stunned, had i been had by an international gigolo??? Only in my world people!!!! Thinking back im like, am i that freakin nieve, or is he just that good??? Really though, what are the chances that he hooks up with two chicks in this city of millions who are actually connected???Its like an fd up version of friendster or somethin!!!Oh my life!!!! So that was tuesday night. Yesterday i went to a free concert in a park nearby. Afterward my friend and i stopped by a new restaurant that hasnt quite opened to check out a mural that my friend christina was commissioned to do. Its awesome, this was her first paid piece, i hope it opens doors for her cuz she's got alot of talent!! Then we headed across the street to a total dive bar. It was sweet, they only had cans of beer(no bottles), and their beer selection was top notch:red dog, milwaukee's best, king cobra it was quite an experience. After that we headed to igor's where i stayed way too late, but made a new friend. Today....is almost over, thats really all i got for now.....workin all weekend.....going to a party sat. night......and a bartender party at the levy on sunday.....must sleep now!!!! PEace OuT!!
